Force journey up to Newcastle for the final game of the series against the Eagles on Friday.
Newcastle head into the game sitting second in the BBL table behind Leicester Riders after a 93-70 win over Bristol Flyers. League top scorer Jaysean Paige led the Eagles in scoring with 32 points, 5 assists and 3 steals in the Bristol match up. Paige is averaging 23 points per game this season and has routinely been a focal point for one of the league’s best offences, Fellow Guard Saah Nimley was also electric against Bristol with 27 points and 8 assists.
Nimley shot 5-10 from downtown in Newcastle’s victory and was integral to the Eagles win against Force last time out with 32 points 6-7 coming from beyond the arc, the American is a dangerous sharpshooter as many teams can testify this year and when the back court offense of Nimley and Paige gets rolling Newcastle are difficult to stop.
The obvious opponent to Nimley and Paige will come in the form of Force Guard Adrian Kuyinu who has been a great scorer for Force on offense since his arrival and has averaged just shy of 17 points per game in his 10 games for Force and was one of only two Force players to reach double figures against Surrey last time out.
Gazmend Sinani will want to get back to his best after a tough night against the Scorchers, Sinani was a monster at rebounding the last time Force faced Newcastle with 17, 7 of which were on the offensive end. His threat on the boards has been a big part of the Force offense and he has been averaging a double-double per game since his arrival 6 games ago.
It will be a tough test against a very good Newcastle side but Force will be burning to prove that they are much better than last week’s score indicates.
