It’s a home double header this weekend as Force face first on Friday Surrey Scorchers and then Leicester Riders on the Sunday.
Force lost the last two times the sides faced each other by 7 at home in October and 27 away in January. With Omatoyo Ogedengebe putting up solid numbers in both appearances, the Forward is averaging 13 points per game to go with 3 rebounds and 3 assists this season but has gone over that average both times that Scorchers have faced Force with 18 points the first time out and 15 points when Force visited Surrey. Ogedengebe also went for 21 last time out against Cheshire Phoenix
Despite Ogedengebe’s previous performances against Force, Guard Tony Hicks is Surrey’s danger man averaging over 19 points per game 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Hicks had a big game the last time Surrey visited the Carnegie Arena with 20 points on the way to his team’s victory but was rather quiet in Force’s visit to Surrey with 10 points and 6 assists.
Join us for the Force’s match against Surrey this Friday the 16th at 7.30 pm at Leeds Beckett Headingley Sports Arena. Tickets are on sale now.
In this weekend’s other game league leaders Leicester Riders visit on the back end of a back to back where they first face Cheshire Phoenix. The Riders defence has been exceptional this season with them not conceding over 100 points all season and last time out they held Sheffield Sharks to 64 in their 75-64 win, Leicester has also kept 3 teams below 60 points including Force the last time the teams met each other.
Forward JR Holder is the Riders leader in scoring, averaging 16 points per game and will be a big test for Force’s backcourt to keep in check while Guard Tyler Bernardini averages 14 points per game and was on the verge of a double-double in points and assists last time out against the Sharks.
Adrian Kuyinu will be hoping to stay as hot as he was last time out against Worcester where he notched 18 points and was red hot in the first half and is now improving his average points per game to nearer 17 points. Gazmend Sinani was great again last time out 16 points 9 rebounds and 2 blocks and both he and Kuyinu are solidly becoming Force’s offensive anchors, the issue last time out against the wolves was the team scoring around the duo as Force’s 3 other starters amounted for 10 points between them against Worcester.
Watch the Force take on Leicester on Sunday the 18th at 4 pm at Leeds Beckett Headingley Sports Arena. Tickets are available now online.
